Problem Based Learning in Environmental Education, perspectives on Mining from student awareness in La Jagua de Ibirico
Publié 2024“…The research presented in this article was conducted at the José Guillermo Castro Castro Castro Educational Institution, located in La Jagua de Ibirico, a coal mining municipality in the department of Cesar in Colombia; this work adopted a qualitative approach based on participatory research and using Problem Based Learning (PBL) as a technique for raising awareness in environmental education, specifically directed at 180 students in their last academic year to evaluate their understanding of mining, its impacts and its relationship with the three pillars of sustainable development. The information collected was systematized using ATLAS.ti 9 software and analyzed using the content analysis technique to generate semantic networks and word clouds that defined the conditioning factors of the student body's statements, which allowed the design, execution and pre- and post-application analysis of the aforementioned technique, called BETWEENMINES. …”
