En el presente articulo se indaga por las relaciones sociales que posibilitan que el maestro de historia sea participe del campo intelectual de la disciplina histórica y realice un trabajo intelectual. El contexto en el que se ubica el análisis tiene una doble vía: la autonomía de la disciplina histórica como campo intelectual y el seguimiento de las huellas dejadas por la disciplina histórica en la escuela bogotana. El maestro de historia aparece como una figura central en tanto establece una relación constitutiva con el saber histórico.
