Description
Summary:The purpose of this study is to determine the anthropometric motor and functional profile of schoolchildren of both sexes with ages around 10 and 16 years old and to analyze their relationship with sports training processes in the municipality of Ansermanuevo Valle del Cauca Colombia. The selected sample n= 477 was measured: height, weight, chest perimeter, fat percentage, reaction speed and displacement, power in lower and upper limbs, aerobic resistance, flexibility and biological maturation. The statistical analysis of these variables showed that for the female sex the significant changes are given when passing from 11 to 12 years and for men when passing from 14 to 15 years, which indicates that there is an approximate difference of 2 years in the processes of biological maturation between the female and male sexes. There is a great correlation between biological age and some anthropometric indices in both genders (height, weight, normal chest perimeter), and engines in the male gender (speed racing, length jump, throwing and endurance race). This analysis allows us to conclude that the influence of biological age on levels of physical development and motor function in schoolchildren is marked. Physical education teachers and coaches must take into account the pedagogical principles of individualization and differentiation of the physical load, optimizing the physical preparation of the students and athletes from the different disciplines that are practiced in the municipality.
