description Given the needs, expectations and experiences of the new generations, the discourses that address to quality education and the possibilities of generating environments and policies to achieve this ideal. However, the reality of today's society calls for other types of pedagogical practices within basic and secondary education institutions, especially in terms of sex education, that is, a renewed sex education, stripped of stereotypes, prejudices and different approaches that for decades have perpetuated training models based on preventive, moralistic and heteronormative approaches. Due to the above, which aims to analyze the critical meanings present in the Public Policies of Sex Education with respect to training practices in public schools in Bogotá. Thus, this article evidences the result of the review and analysis of 50 research articles about SE, focusing on the studies carried out in Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Ecuador, Mexico, Cuba, and Peru in order to build an overview of SE in the region. Based on the above, it can be concluded that there are shortcomings in teacher training regarding issues related to sexuality and its teaching. In the same way, it is necessary to generate a change in the pedagogical practices of Sexual Education, to transcend heteronormative discourses and biopolitical views that maintain gender roles and stereotypes.
