| description | This article aims to reveal the educational strategies implemented by Proyecto Escuela Comunidad (School-Community Project, PEC) in the 1990s, which allowed its students —now graduates— to face the adverse conditions of a context of socioeconomic vulnerability and transcend by consolidating socially relevant personal trajectories, becoming social leaders, professionals, artists, and high-performance athletes, among others, who were committed as citizens with their social reality. The research work supporting this article was based on the sociocritical methodology applied to the realm of education, from which a dialectic view of reality was adopted while recognizing that knowledge is built with subjects within the given context, who ascribe meaning to their experience. This is why qualitative tools, enriched with quantitative data for a deeper analysis, were employed. The aforementioned educational strategies were guided by popular education, by principles such as the political nature of education, the fight against injustice, and proposals for transforming reality. Moreover, they were linked to the socio-spatial context in which the educational experience took place. The results show the relationships between the PEC, the educational strategies, the life trajectories marked by the lessons learned from the education process, and what defines the participants as subjects linked to artistic, community, sports, cultural, and political education. |

Este artículo tiene por objetivo develar las estrategias educativas desarrolladas por el Proyecto Escuela Comunidad (PEC) en la década de 1990 y que permitieron a sus estudiantes —hoy egresados— enfrentar las condiciones adversas de un contexto de vulnerabilidad socioeconómica y trascender consolidando trayectorias personales con relevancia social, convirtiéndose en líderes sociales, profesionales, artistas y deportistas de alto rendimiento, entre otros, comprometidos en calidad de ciudadanos con su realidad social. La investigación que soporta el artículo se basó en la metodología sociocrítica aplicada al ámbito educativo, desde la cual se adoptó una mirada dialéctica de la realidad y se reconoció que el conocimiento se construye con los sujetos del contexto, quienes dan significado a su experiencia. Es por eso que se utilizaron herramientas cualitativas enriquecidas con datos cuantitativos para profundizar los análisis. Las estrategias educativas estuvieron orientadas por la educación popular, por principios como la politicidad de la educación, la lucha en contra de las injusticias y la propuesta de transformación de la realidad. Además, estuvieron vinculadas con el contexto socioespacial donde se encontraba inmersa la experiencia educativa. Los resultados muestran las relaciones existentes entre el PEC, las estrategias educativas, las trayectorias de vida marcadas por los aprendizajes que quedaron del proceso formativo y lo que constituye a los participantes como sujetos vinculados con la formación artística, comunitaria, deportiva, cultural y política.
