Summary:In order to face the technological and pedagogical changes, the teaching staff needs new competences and work models not previously required. This review addresses the incorporation of ICT in education, from public policies that promote them, presenting their impact on teaching and learning, their role in the information society and the challenges of inclusive education, as well as the emerging technologies. Finally, international and national guidelines are presented in the context of the study.
