El presente artículo ofrece una reflexión personal sobre qué implica ser maestros y maestras hoy. A partir de su propia historia de vida la autora expondrá como ha forjado su rol docente, cómo ha afrontado las tensiones entre el querer ser y hacer en los diferentes contextos donde ha laborado, y qué la motiva a seguir trabajando en la consolidación de una educación de calidad. El tema central es la Educación para Todos (EPT), del cual en abaníco surgen el enfoque de derechos, el enfoque diferencial, la perspectiva de género y la inclusión en varios niveles educativos; especialmente, en la primera infancia.
