Summary:One of the most recent milestones in the world education systems is the creation of educational innovation centers, whose objective is to encourage teachers to transform their practice. The emergence of these sites is the result of deep tensions suffered by education in general, Because of that, a reflection is proposed in which some facts that show such a crisis in Latin America and particularly in Colombia are analyzed, the review of some facts that highlight this crisis, the place that educational innovation has as a solution to these problems and the challenges that teachers, schools and innovation centers would have to contribute to this solution.
