El presente artículo contiene una mirada que desde una postura alternativa posiciona al profesor como agente fundamental en la educación, al considerarle un constructor de conocimiento; con ello en mente, se transita el recorrido necesario para llegar a tal afirmación, dando cuenta de dos investigaciones que permiten caracterizar el saber del docente frente a las nociones escolares que enseña en las áreas de Lenguaje y Educación Física hasta, finalmente, develar las implicaciones de reconocerle como sujeto que construye un conocimiento propio.
