Summary:This article proposes, through a hermeneutic methodology, the analysis of a sampling of sources from the last twenty years about research in school contexts, which initially accounts for two main lines. On the one hand, the studies that allude from different positions to the role of the research teacher; and, secondly, the distinctions about the validity of the research in the school and university environment. From the review of these texts resulting from research, the permanence of a crisis of meaning about the disciplinary nature of pedagogy and the installation of its role as an interdisciplinary field that harbors frictions related to the validity of discourses, actors and places of production of educational research as part of a global science that ends up affecting, from relationships with knowledge, to the professional life conditions of those who exercise the profession of teaching in initial, basic and secondary education.
