الملخص:Early childhood care and education is a process that continues to gain prominence in countries’ political agendas, given that research has demonstrated the importance of reducing inequality in vulnerable contexts. The objective of this work was to analyze the implementation of the preventive pedagogical strategies used by community mothers and the interdisciplinary team of the Hogares Comunitarios de Bienestar program in response to the conditions of social vulnerability in the city of Medellín’s Comuna 8. This task was approached through a multiple case study with a qualitative focus, using focus groups and semi-structured interviews. Coding, analysis, and categorization were carried out in the ATLAS.ti software, resulting in the identification of the vulnerability conditions present in the community and families; the characterization of the pedagogical strategies implemented, grouped into three types according to their intentionality: community-involvement strategies, family-involvement strategies, and strategies directed at boys and girls; and the analysis of implementation experiences based on their benefits and challenges. In conclusion, there is evidence of the normalization of risk factors present in families, as well as of the relevance of community-involvement strategies and the motivational component. Furthermore, this work calls for continued strengthening of institutional competence alongside community involvement aimed at preventing, empowering, and emancipating.
