El artículo presenta una experiencia de formación en habilidades de investigación social, llevada a cabo con estudiantes de Ciclo V[1] en Ciudad Bolívar, localidad que, por sus condiciones, facilita la posibilidad de construir nuevos aprendizajes desde las realidades sociales experimentadas. El objetivo es implementar un proceso pedagógico de formación en investigación social con los estudiantes, a partir de una perspectiva interdisciplinar cuyo punto de partida son las ciencias sociales. Los resultados permiten destacar la importancia de la investigación social en la escuela, desde su posibilidad de generar formas de acercamiento a los problemas socio-estructurales de las comunidades. [1] Nivel de formación en educación media, última fase para obtener el título de bachiller académico. Corresponde a los grados décimo y undécimo. La población estudiantil son jóvenes. Sus edades oscilan entre los 15 y 18 años y se encuentran en proceso de escoger opciones profesionales para el ingreso a la educación superior o el mundo productivo.
